Why Passphrases Work

Passphrase mode on the live Carmedin tool uses the EFF's long Diceware wordlist — 7,775 common English words purpose-built for generating memorable, secure passphrases.

5 words

~64.6 bits of entropy

Comparable to a 10-character random password when words are drawn uniformly from the 7,775-word EFF list.

6 words

~77.5 bits

Stronger than most password policies require while remaining far easier to remember than random character strings.

Memorable

Real words

Words are usually easier to recall and type accurately than long strings of unrelated characters.

Generating strong credentials is only step one

We help secure the infrastructure behind them.

Strong passwords matter, but so does everything around them — access controls, MFA, monitoring, and incident response.
