About Carmedin

Caribbean Medical Informatics B.V., trading as Carmedin, is a specialist healthcare technology consultancy incorporated in Curaçao, Kingdom of the Netherlands. We serve clinical laboratories, pathology services, diagnostic facilities, and medical practices across the greater Caribbean region.

Who We Are

We deliver across the full lifecycle of healthcare technology — strategy, build, operate, and continuously improve — combining clinical informatics expertise with infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and regulatory capability. Our clients range from single-site practices to multi-site reference laboratories, as well as government and institutional healthcare bodies, since much of the region’s healthcare IT work runs through public-sector tender processes.

As a Curaçao-incorporated entity within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, our data protection obligations are informed by GDPR/AVG standards, and we are actively working toward ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) accreditation — a genuine, ongoing initiative reflecting how seriously we take quality and security.

Our Approach

Clinical Domain First

We speak laboratory, pathology, and clinical IT fluently, long before we open a server console.

Compliance by Design

Regulatory and quality considerations are built in from day one, never bolted on.

Vendor-Neutral

We recommend what fits, not what we resell. Independence is non-negotiable.

Build, Run & Improve

We don’t drop projects at go-live; we operate, measure, and continuously enhance.

How We’re Organized

Carmedin is governed by a Board of Directors, who are also the company’s shareholders, providing strategic oversight. The company is led by a CEO with direct oversight of Human Resources, Finance & Accounting, Quality & Compliance, and Marketing/Sales/PR functions.

A dedicated Operations Manager oversees all technical delivery, organized into two clusters: Solution Delivery Operations — covering Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Laboratory Informatics, Data & Interoperability, and related technical specialist teams — and Client Facing Operations — covering Technical Support, Customer Success, and Training.

Our Commitment to Quality & Compliance

Every engagement is backed by formal service level agreements across four criticality tiers — not determined by client size, but by the criticality of the work itself. A small clinic doing mission-critical diagnostic work has access to the same tier options as a large reference laboratory. We also maintain formal incident response and cybersecurity procedures specific to healthcare and patient-data breach scenarios, distinct from routine helpdesk incident handling.
